David Archuleta joins TV5 and now officially a KAPATID star

American Idol 2007 runner-up David Archuleta is scheduled to arrive in Manila on January 13 to do a primetime series for TV5.

Despite his earlier announcement that he planned to take a break from music to serve a full-time, two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, David Archuleta will do a primetime series with homegrown Kapatid stars Jasmin Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero.

According to InterAksyon.com, the online news portal of TV5, the signing of Archuleta is seen to further boost the attempts of TV5, currently the third biggest broadcasting network in the Philippines, to climb up the rankings.

Meanwhile, TV5 and David Archuleta became two of the trending topics in the Twitter Philippines minutes after Kapatid‘s announcement. Fans and even celebrities took to Twitter to express their excitement.
