Paul Simon sings ‘The Sound Of Silence’ at the 9/11 Memorial ceremony [VIDEO]

Art Garfunkel‘s musical partner Paul Simon performed today at New York City’s 9/11 Memorial ceremony to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy in New York City.

In the following video, Paul performs the acoustic version of the song “The Sound of Silence” originally performed by the duo Simon & Garfunkel.

Paul Simon, who looked so emotional while performing, was the popular American Singer-Songwriter who wrote popular songs such as “Mrs. Robinson”, and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.

  1. I was in awe watching this timeless legend singing his masterpiece. Who could be more of a New Yorker, more American, than Paul Simon? What song can describe the tragedy any better? I can’t think of any. The only complaint I have is that without Art Garfunkel, “Sounds of Silence” would have not been the monster standard it is. Bad decision not to include him. Also, a more fitting tribute would have been another tour de force, “American Tune”.

I certainly agree! This rendition would’ve been perfect and much more intimate if it were performed by the duo. Thanks for dropping by Musicollector!
