ANC launches “Kinse”: Human Rights Film Series

The Philippine’s first ever 24/7 news channel, ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) previously known as the Sarimanok News Network, recently launches “KINSE: The ANC Human Rights Film Series” in its year long celebration of their 15th year anniversary.

ANC, the one who brought us New York Festival’s finalist “Storyline”, special episodes of “Talkback with Tina Palma” “Strictly Politics” and “AMBISYON 2010“, brings us another quality masterpiece featuring 15 short film series by the country’s 15 most talented directors/film makers on the film making industry.

ANC together with the Commission on Human Rights are supported by the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Netherlands in this advocacy that tackles social issues that are often neglected such as women’s rights, harassment and domestic violence.

Directors Erik Matti, Carlos Siguion Reyna, Mark Meily, Auraeus Solito, Raymond Red, Jim Libiran, Jon Red, Richard Somes, Ato Bautista, Kiri Dalena, Ray Gibraltar, Raymund Amonoy, Kidlat de Guia, Nico Puertollano, and Paolo Villaluna are among the 15 talented and vivid voices in film and television who gave off their time and talents pro bono for this project. Executive Producer Patricia Evangelista says that every one of them “was given creative freedom and funding by ANC and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with the support of the Commission on Human Rights, so that they could pursue and fulfill their visions for Kinse.”

“We hope that for every film in “KINSE”, there will be one less victim whose story ANC will tell.” – Patricia Evangelista, “Kinse” Executive producer

ANC will also air a six-part TV special on “Kinse” hosted by actress and women’s rights advocate Angel Aquino beginning Monday (May 23), 9:30pm on SkyCable ch. 27. You also visit www.kinse.tv for more info about “KINSE: The ANC Human Rights Film Series”
